Sharing My Message on the Importance of IPC at Alami Specialist Hospital
On September 5, 2025, I had the honor of joining Alami Specialist Hospital at Safari Hotel in Mogadishu for the Closing & Recognition Ceremony of the First Quarter Heads of Departments (HODs) Training Program.
As the keynote speaker, I delivered a session on “The Importance of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for Frontline Healthcare Workers.” Speaking on this topic is deeply personal for me—as the Founder of AIDA Health Advisory Group and an Infection Control Specialist, I have seen firsthand how strong IPC measures save lives, protect healthcare workers, and build safer hospitals.
During my talk, I emphasized that IPC is more than a technical requirement; it is a culture of responsibility and care. By embedding IPC practices into daily hospital routines, we can reduce risks, prevent outbreaks, and ultimately improve the quality of healthcare across Somalia.
